Rea Frantzi [exit]

Rea Frantzi [exit] — a walking performance in Neapoli Exarchia

The performance Rea Frantzi [exit] is a participatory performative event, structured as a circular loop, designed for a single spectator. It uses as its main narrative axis the story of the central heroine from Christos Vakalopoulos’ 1991 novel The Horizon Line in order to carry out a human-geographical mapping of contemporary post-junta Greek reality.

By considering the neighborhood of Neapoli Exarchia as the cultural epicenter of this era, the performance traces a route that highlights the notion of the personal and private as carriers and agents of the social and collective narrative.

Through nine stations/actions, the spectator-participant reencounters public space as an accomplice, a reflective observer, and a potential creator of it.
